Dr. Samuel Bowen founded BPUC with the belief that residents in Assisted Living Communities deserved access to better and more convenient medical care.  His focus on providing quality, compassionate care, has helped to  make BPUC a premier choice for on-site care in Assisted Living Communities across North Carolina. 

In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic  began to spread within Assisted Living Communities, Dr. Bowen’s commitment to the care of his patient's grew even stronger.  In spite of taking every precaution necessary, Dr. Bowen contracted Covid-19  in late December and succumbed to his illness on January 19, 2021.  

Dr. Bowen’s dream of providing quality care and superb customer service will continue to live within the heart and soul of every BPUC physician and employee.  Our desire is to move forward with the vision that Dr. Bowen had some 40 years ago by continuing to provide quality, compassionate, and convenient care to resident’s in Assisted Living Communities.
